Kids DH Bike Part 4: Canfield Brothers finishing touches

There are a couple things that can really make it difficult to ride when you're little. Riding downhill doesn't make it any easier.

  1. The crank arm length is too long (for their little legs) and the rider has to po-go up and down to pedal

Based on my experience - it's never too early to start enjoying the sport of downhill mountain biking. So how do you find the right bike for someone new to the sport? At this point in a rider's experience - it is important to be conservative and look for what you can get starting with a complete bike (24" wheel) versus building something custom.  This post details the 2011 Kona Stinky 24 and our experience making minor modifications to get the suspension dialed in for a beginner 4'5" tall weighing in just over 70 lbs.
